The Canadian Post will cease sending personalized mail to U.S. recipients of the letters with the hashtag #MakeAmericasGreatAgain, the company announced Thursday.
The letter is one of thousands of envelopes that have been delivered to the president-elect of the United States.
“The U.K. government recently issued a request for proposals on how to improve postal service, and the U.N. recently issued recommendations to address issues relating to the use of digital communications in the delivery of government services,” said the letter, which was signed by Chief Marketing Officer Scott Dickson and Chief Information Officer Kevin Dickson.
“As Canadians, we want our mail delivered in a safe and secure manner, and we want to ensure that we are receiving the same service as everyone else.”
Postal Service will begin sending mail to recipients on Dec. 31.
